2000 Excursion V10 WEIRD power adder Help!!

Hello, I posted on this a couple weeks ago, but no one knew what it was and only Ken responded with one good idea that it was a cyclone power fan. This is nnot a power fan, it has something to do with forcing more air or fuel. I have a little more info now. There is this box in the cab that has no brand name/manufacturer name on it. It has two dials with plus and minus on them on each side. It also has a flip switch that says either highway or city. When you turn the dials up all the way it slows the idle down some. I just bought the Ex from a dealer, and they didnt find out what it was when the owner traded it in. I have the owners info and will call him later on, but wanted to know what you all thought it was. I do know from what the owner told the dealer is that it is a performance system, and it is unhooked but it will slow the idle down some>....... Under the hood it has a cylinder like box that is plastic with a filter like thing in it(lol i know im so descriptive) with a bunch of wires on the cap on it, and a vaccuum port and also a hose going to the air box. I have pictures here on photobucket= http://s762.photobucket.com/albums/x...power%20adder/ to see the ALBUM.)

Please let me know if you have any ideas!! Thanks!!

You DID get a response. And while it's just my opinion, I think Ken pointed you in a great direction.

That looks like a Brown's Gas generator. (Hydrogen generator) If so, it's utter crap.

I imagine you fill the container with water where through electrolysis it splits the water into oxygen and hydrogen and puts the hydrogen into the intake stream.

Careful with that. It can make your truck run dangerously lean. I'd pull it all out if it were mine but hey...

Yes it is a hydrogen separator. I'd pull that crap out as well.

Yes guys you are right. I finally talked to the previous owner who is a mechanic and that is what it is. He says it is currently unhooked. He said when it was hooked up he got 3-4mpgs better. He said he would show me how to hook it back up if I wanted to. But i dont think I will. Thanks for your all's info!
