I was at the yard today and buried in a bunch of brush was an old Ford, I've never seen these handles so I was wondering if they would be worth trying to remove. The chrome is bad but there is'nt much pitting.
I also grabbed the hub caps from this truck one is stainless and the other four are aluminium, are they correct for this truck or are they just some aftermarket caps?
Thanks
Pat
door handles will fit 61-66 trucks, if the doors have a straight contour line sloping downward going rearward, those are unibody/integral bodied truck doors only...a tough find nowadays...if decent/salvagable...a good thing to grab if you have the room...hub caps...nothing special as far as collectability...not correct for the truck either...different wheels are on it from originally.
If you can get the plates and handles for nada or next to...grab them...the push buttons are unique to the trucks which used the plates(longer shaft) theres only one screw(behind weatherstripping) and a 5/16" screw on the inside of the door that the front part of the handle attaches to.
The truck is in a yard in Sugergrove, PA and it is totally trashed, it's way out back in the woods and is covered with brush and logs. It happened to catch my eye will I was cutting a path thru the thorn bushs to check out a VW bus. This is the 6th and worst Slick I've found back in the woods and the only real good part on it is the tin that mounts under the missing dash panel thats say's "Custom cab" or "Custom sport" or something like that. If anyone knows what I was just talking about then is there a trick to removing that?
As far as the handles go I'm sure I can get them for a couple of bucks so I'll let you guys know incase one of you still wants them.
