Hey guys I got the stock air intake box on my 5.8 in my f350. Was wondering what my options are for intake, not looking to spend a whole lot. Anyone have pictures of theres, I would like to convert two tubes into one, or take the tubes out. Let me know.....Cody
Your best bet is to get the I6/460 tube from the air box to the radiator support. It pulls in cool air from behind the grille nest to the headlight. Its much better than the 5.0/5.8 one that sits on top of the radiator where its hot. Also, the I6/460 tube is less restrictive. Do that and stick with a Motorcraft, Wix, or Purolator air filter.
My friend and I both had FIPK and saw not improvement other that sound. We both got worse performance especially during the summer. Those setups just suck in hot underhood air.
Especially the smooth ones the older crinkles style ones are all around.....I trimmed the piece that goes in behind my grille because it kinda has a wrap-around deal that you can't see in that very first picture.
