I have a chance to buy a compete set of alloy rims and tire take offs from a 2011 f350 to put on my 08 f350. Will the newer tire pressure sensors work on my 08?
Thanks
I'm not sure, in my owners manual for my 2011 there is a procedure for "training" the TPMS monitors, one wheel at a time. If you have your manual you might see if that procedure also works on the 2008 trucks. If it does there would be a good chance that the new tires and wheels would work. I haven't read or seen anything that is different on the TPMS from my '07 to the 2011.
I put 09 rims on my 2011 and the sensors worked the tire shop just pulled them out of my 11 rims and put them in the 09 rims. But it may not work the other way around because the older trucks had the band sensors and the new ones just sit in behind the valve stem. Are the rims your buying going to come with the sensors in them?
