Hello Everyone,
I recently bought a 2002 ford expedition with 167,000 Kilometers
After doing an oil change, the exhaust was blowing white smoke like crazy.
We then took out a full liter of oil and ran the truck again. After doing so, no more smoke.
I ran the truck again for 30 minutes and no more smoke came out. I then decided to do a compression test just to be sure and here are the results:
It means you have low compression in one cylinder.
You now need to perfrom a leak down test to determine if you have an issue with the rings or the valves. My guess would be that you have a valve not sealing properly on the offending cylinder.
The cylinder head must be removed to make the repair. That is a fair amount of labor. If you can pull the head yourself, they repair would probably be less than $200, if all you do is fix the issue.
