Front Springs

I want to put new springs in the front of my 76 2wd F100. I see the parts stores ( Auto Zone,Advance, O'Rileys) sell 2 different kinds. One is OEM replacement the other is a variable rate spring. I want to get my front end as close to level as possible, which one will provide the best result? Has anyone had any expirience with either of these? My goal is to get 31s under all four corners. Any help would be great, thanks.

hmmm...my guess would be the OEM replacements...as they are replacements for factory specs...so i imagine they would be your best bet...but hopefully someone else has better insight on this topic

Cheers, Shane

Factory springs are just that, factory specs. Variable rate springs have tight spirals on top and then loose spirals on bottom.(laymans terms) They give you a soft ride but get stiffer as a load is placed on them.I would get variable rate springs. Not sure how much it will raise your front end.

im debating the same thing, but im going to go with the moog springs from advance auto, but not sute about the stock or variable rates. I think i might buy both, install each set, take measurments, and return a set. Not sure when, but i will post the results when i do it.

I apprecitiate the input. I know either spring will lift the truck to some degree, since the originals are tired. I am surprised that more people have not replaced their springs and reported the result. I am favoring the variable rate set as of now, just due to having more coils.
