If your tires are worn unevenly. is it better to try to set tires that are most even rear or front. I mean is't it better to have the tire that are even in rear or front. Try not to have diffrence between right and left on same axle?
If you have the AWD or even A4WD tires with much difference in tread depth will cause you problems. You're talking tread depth and not outside/center wear, right?
yes I got two tires with litle more wear. do I put them in front or rear? I just boght the car not long ago so I dont know if the pre owner did rotate them. Now the one of the more wear tires are in the back and one in the front..
To add to what ncranchero said, if you also have ABS, much variation in tread depth may cause the ABS to trigger a code or if you have stability control, it could even cause that to activate.
Can you quantify for us how much variation you're talking about? Is it 1/16 of an inch, or 1/4 inch? Is the tread depth uniform across all tires? Are all tires of the same size and brand?
all same brand. you just noticed that the two tires have more wear. I was just wondering if is´t better to put them in front so if the front tire wear more, then they baby get even but not the other way around
When wear equality isn't an issue I always put the best tires on the front. Steering is rather important to me in heavy rain as well as stopping force being greater on the front. Considering only tire wear you may be correct but safety is most important.
je thought so. But talking about tires, I am starting to look for new tires and I can get hercules avalanche x-treme for good price, so I was wondering if someone her have any experience with these tires?
I didn't know Hercules was even still around. Many, many years ago my dad sold Hercules tires at his shop. My parents both had them on their cars. By the time I was old enough to drive, their distributor had switched over to Cooper tires for cost and availability reasons (at least that's what I think was the reason). I don't recall any issues with the Hercules tires, on the family vehicles or from customers. But, again, that was probably 20 years ago and things may have changed over time.
