I'm looking to get an '08 6.4 F250. This will be my first diesel engine. I have a couple of questions.
1) Anyone here buy their truck from Gibbsontruckworld.com in FL? Any feedback?
2) Should I really get an '08?
Let me explain, I do not tow or need a work truck, I'm just in love with the new body F250. I'm looking at a couple but the mileage is high ( 60K-120K) I've read all about the DPF/TUNER. Am I making a mistake getting an '08? due to the poor mpg? Should I just get an 07 6.0? What do you guys recommend for a truck that will basically never see real work from me..
Since you do not plan on using the engine for what is built for, you can still have the body style in a gasoline version. Hard to find with a V-10 but is most popular in the 5.4L engine.
What type of driving will you do? Lots of hwy? If that is the case then you can get a PSD. If it is all city get a gas motor with the new body on it.
These diesels will work best and have less issues with hard or prolonged periods of use. So it you have a 20 mile commute or something at hwy speeds and get the truck nice and warm then you could look at a diesel.
My vote of course is the 6.4. 60-80K miles is not alot. With maintance this motor should do well over 300K.
Ever turn any wrenches? Like to work on you own vehicles? That is the type of person you need to be to own any diesel. They are maintance heavy.

Now Senix, you know you don't have to turn your own wrenches if you own a diesel. Now if you own a diesel and you also like to have money to eat, then you should like to turn some wrenches.
