Whipple Supercharged 2021 Ford F-150 Cranks Out 775 Raging Horsepower
One simple upgrade turns this supercharged 2021 Ford F-150 into a tire-smoking monster with wicked acceleration.
While the vast majority of new Ford F-150 pickups produced and purchased today are powered by some sort of V6, the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 remains the obvious enthusiast favorite. It may not be the most powerful engine available in the 2021 F-150 by far, but for us, there’s just no replacing the sound and feel of a proper V8. Plus, with even just a few upgrades, the Coyote can make serious power, as we can see from this wicked supercharged 2021 Ford F-150.
Owned by Michael Vaim of the YouTube channel AutoVlog, this supercharged 2021 Ford F-150 recently received its Whipple upgrade at Town & Country Ford in Bessemer, Alabama, which is a pretty famous dealership thanks to its in-house custom shop that’s already cranked out a couple of sweet 2021 Broncos. Regardless, Vaim quickly moves on to his F-150, which is ready to roast its large tires now that it has a massive infusion of power.
Aside from making a whopping 775 horsepower – a mere 375 more than the Coyote does in stock form – Whipple’s supercharger also comes with a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty. In the process of installing the big blower, the truck also lost its auto start/stop and cylinder deactivation, which are annoyances in the minds of many owners, so that’s a big plus, too.
This is all fun, of course, but none of that paper stuff matters if the extra power doesn’t translate to a totally different driving experience. Luckily, it does. “I’m not used to my truck having power – crap,” Vaim says. “I don’t think I’ve ever gone that speed in my truck. That’s so fast on the street. This is by far the fastest truck I’ve ever been in.”
Mitchell Watts of T&C Ford is also along for the ride and points out that the dealership has also built a 1,000 horsepower version of Vaim’s pickup, which is even more insane. Regardless, 775 horsepower is more than enough, and Vaim notes that once he gets his upgraded pickup home, he’s going to strap his equipment in and do some real testing to see just how fast it really is, though the early seat of the pants estimates are certainly encouraging.
