Whipple Gen 5 Supercharger Adds Big Power To the F-150
Whipple's Gen 5 3.0-liter supercharger adds big time power to the 2018-2020 Ford F-150 without a ton of work.
More Power
The Gen 5, 3.0-liter Whipple Supercharger has been out for the 2018+ Ford Mustang for a while now. But now, 2018-2020 Ford F-150 owners can get the same blower for their own 5.0-liter Coyote V8-equipped pickups, and it produces power that's every bit as impressive as what Mustang owners have been enjoying over the last couple of years.

Stage 1
There are two different supercharger kits available - Stage 1 and Stage 2. The Stage 1 kit utilizes the stock 80mm throttle body, yet still produces a healthy 735 horsepower and 685 pound-feet of torque using Whipple's included tuning solution.

Stage 2
Meanwhile, those who step up to the Stage 2 supercharger kit will enjoy an even bigger power boost, thanks to the kit's included Roval 132mm billet throttle body. The bigger, badder supercharger kit lays down 775 horsepower and 685 pound-feet of torque at the flywheel, which is undoubtedly impressive.

Various Improvements
The nice thing about Whipple's supercharger kits is that they don't require any cutting or grinding to make them fit. The Gen 5 supercharger also features the latest rotor technology, which includes a 3/4 rotor combination, improved sealing, and higher efficiency than previous generations.

New Design
The all-new F-150 supercharger systems also feature Whipple's new inverted supercharger, which nestles the supercharger in the valley of the block. The air goes through the massive patent-pending intercoolers for industry leading thermal efficiency, then down the runners for maximum performance.

Built-In Safeguards
Additionally, Whipple's PCM calibration reconfigures all the necessary engine functions including fuel, spark, knock detection, torque management, transmission control, and electronic throttle control. The vehicle's PCM constantly monitors the engine's torque output and other parameters to keep the engine in its ideal parameters. If a parameter falls below specification, the PCM will lower boost and torque output until the problem can be fixed.

Win-Win
Whipple's tune also includes a recalibration for the truck's 10-speed transmission designed to keep the engine in its peak torque range at nearly all RPM points and keeps the stock Off-Road, Tow, Eco, and Sport modes intact. Throw in the fact that you'll be making tire-shredding power, and the new Gen 5 blower seems like a real win-win.
