Which Bronco Generation Do You Remember?

We’ve got Bronco fever here at Ford Truck Enthusiasts because Ford might actually be bringing back the Bronco for future production. We could see it on sale as early as the 2018 model year as production of the Focus and C-Max end at Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant. Many of you have commented on our previous stories about features and options you want to see in the newest Bronco. A lot of your recommendations are based on the generation you remember the most and are the most fond of.

Personally, I was born in 1983. That means I have no recollection of the 1970s Broncos that we’ve highlighted here in the past. Obviously you can’t remember something you weren’t even alive for.

But when I’m asked about the Bronco, my mind wanders to towards the later generations. In particular, the fifth generation. More importantly, my mind wanders to the singular Ford Bronco that helped kill the production in the United States, and that was the Bronco used in the low-speed chase of O.J. Simpson.

OJ Ford Bronco

While it’s wrong to associate all Broncos with that particular event, there are quite a few Millennials who were at an impressionable age when the O.J. Simpson trial took place. On a related side note, according to Wikipedia, as of 2014 the vehicle hadn’t been located.

But I wanted to ask you, dear readers, when you think of the Bronco name, what do you think of? Please feel free to share photos and stories in the comments, or over on our forums!
