Looking for a Vintage 1964 Ford F-100? Bring This one Home!
In the old days many trucks were purchased with very few fancy options because they were being bought to work. It’s a stark contrast to today, when you often see loaded-up, luxury F-150 Platinum’s on job sites.
While we demand and expect a certain level of convenience and comfort out of our vehicles these days, that hasn’t always been the case. Case in point, this 1964 F-100. A true utilitarian model with no fancy options, this truck has received an extensive rebuild after what were undoubtedly many years of service. The vintage dark blue paint is a fantastic color choice, punctuated by the retro white wheels. The bed-mounted spare is a nice touch that really makes it stand out and reminisce of different times.
The original and vintage Ford 292 V8 has been rebuilt, new shocks added, and a new master-cylinder helps slow things down reliably. The interior is nicely redone in its original spartan fashion, and rubber floor mats along with a flat bench complete the basic theme. Because who needs carpet and eight-way, heated and cooled power seats?
With all the fancy and arguably unnecessary options we find on trucks these days, it’s refreshing to see a basic workhorse every now and then. They serve as reminders of when we used trucks the way they were intended to be used, before they became glorified luxury vehicles.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to switch on my air-conditioned seats because this leather is hot from sitting in the sun!
