This 1992 Ford F-150 Flareside is so nice that it’s essentially a brand new example of one beloved body style.

There was a time, not terribly long ago, when Ford’s Flareside was widely considered to be the ultimate body style for pickups. Throughout much of the 1990s, buyers couldn’t get enough of this stylish treatment, whether it was applied to the rear of a Ranger or an F-150. In fact, lots of Blue Oval fans openly questioned why Ford didn’t bring back the Flareside for the 2022 Ranger Splash, which pays tribute to the colorful model from that decade. Regardless, those seeking an essentially new truck of this ilk can at least purchase this 1992 Ford F-150 Flareside from Bring a Trailer and come pretty close.

That’s because this amazingly well-preserved 1992 Ford F-150 Flareside has just 6k original miles showing on the odometer, and it looks like it just rolled off the assembly line, to be honest. Finished in a classic combination of Electric Red with contrasting lower bodywork, this pickup perfectly personifies the 1990s and what new truck owners used to (still do?) covet from our haulers.

The regular cab, short bed configuration doesn’t hurt, and there’s plenty of shiny chrome present here as well. That includes the vintage 15-inch chrome wheels that were quite common on this generation of F-150, which are wrapped with 235/75 white letter tires. Behind those, you’ll find power disc brakes up front and drums in the rear.

The interior of this F-150 is every bit as clean as the outside, with nothing but perfect Dark Charcoal cloth to see. There are plenty of amenities present inside the cabin as well, including power lumbar support, an AM/FM cassette radio, a sliding rear window, power windows, air conditioning, cruise control, and power locks.

Power for this pickup comes from Ford’s trusty 5.0-liter V8, which was originally rated to produce 185 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, which flows to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission with a column-mounted shifter. Dual fuel tanks feed the V8, which ensures that you can keep driving as long as your bladder can hold out.

This gorgeous, low-mile 1992 F-150 is certainly one of the nicest we’ve seen in a long time, and it has unsurprisingly generated quite a bit of interest at auction. After all, where else can you buy an essentially new Flareside pickup?
