Top 10 Ford Truck Enthusiasts Stories of 2020
From first looks at the newest Fords to wild stories, Ford Truck Enthusiasts have it all in our top 10 stories recap from 2020.
Can you believe it’s December already? That means in a few weeks, 2020 will be over, and 2020 Part II will begin. We certainly look forward to attending all of the Ford truck-related events denied to all in this dreary, painful year.
If this year did give us one thing, though, it’s not just new vehicles we’ve wanted to see for so long. It’s also plenty of time to read more than a few posts from the Ford Truck Enthusiasts collection. Here are the 10 which got the most views in the Year of Our Corona.
No. 10: “Thief Drives New F-350 Super Duty Right Off Dealer’s Lot!”
One would have to be pretty bold to steal a new truck off the dealer lot. Yet, that is what one thief in Georgia did, and then some. Posing as a customer, the thief pulled a bait-and-switch with the key fobs in the day, then returned to make off with a $70,000 F-350 Super Duty.
No. 9: “Hands-on First Look: 2021 F-150 and Mustang Mach 1”
Back in August, when we thought this year was getting better, we visited the Carlisle Ford Nationals to meet the new 2021 F-150 and Mustang Mach 1. The new F-150 looked amazing in person, and amazed us with features like the PowerBoost hybrid system, the folding shifter, and the optional bed-mounted generator. It’s definitely a winner in our eyes already.
No. 8: “Ford F-350 Smokes Six Tires While Pulling a Stuck Semi!”
Ford trucks were built to do the toughest jobs around. Some jobs, though, should be left to tougher Fords. This F-350 tried to pull a big rig out of a ditch with its mighty Power Stroke diesel. Instead, it just made a smoky burnout on the highway.
No. 7: “Retro F-150 Off-Road Package Created by Canadian Ford Dealership”
There’s nothing like a classic two-tone Ford pickup. Just something about them brings us back to denim jackets, mullets and Guns N’ Roses. One Canadian dealership felt the same way, opting to slap on two-tone looks on the 2020 F-150. The Sherwood Ford Retro Package looks really good on the modern lines, too.
No. 6: “Ford Techs Shun F-150 EcoBoost Engines”
Speaking of the past, though, more than a few Ford mechanics revealed they’d rather work with big V8s than the 2.7- and 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6s. A few of the mechanics found the V8s more reliable than the turbocharged V6s. We’ll see how things change over the years to come.
No. 5: “Heavy Mettle: YouTuber Fills F-350 with 13,000 Pounds of Concrete!”
On YouTube, there’s a madman by the name of WhistlinDiesel. His mission: destroy, destroy, destroy his own trucks for the views, as none of them matter as much as his loved ones. Case in point: loading a custom F-350 with enough cement to pave a big driveway. The results will definitely make you feel things, for sure.
No. 4: “Why Can’t I Get Squat for My Super Duty on Trade?”
An Ford Truck Enthusiasts member tried to get a good price for his 2017 F-250 XLT in order to buy a 2019 F-350 diesel. When he couldn’t get what he wanted, he turned to the forums for help. In short, they told him to shop his truck around to get the right deal.
No. 3: “Top 5 Things We HATE About the New Ford Bronco & Bronco Sport”
Twenty-five years after the last Broncos left the factory, the nameplate returned to the road and beyond in both retro-modern form, and in the Bronco II successor, the Bronco Sport. Once the excitement died down, though, we turned our eye towards the things we weren’t so thrilled about the Bronco family.
No. 2: “2021 Ford Bronco Returns as a Wrangler Strangler with $30K Base Pricing (But You’re Gonna Want to Upgrade)”
Of course, we were still happy to have the Bronco back in our lives after such a long time doing without. Thus, we took a deep dive into the retro-modern Mustang of the Dirt. Jeep fans might want to watch their backs, to say the least.
No. 1: “Looking Back: 10 Greatest Ford Truck Engines of All Time”
Finally, our list of the 10 greatest Ford engines ever built set your hearts on fire. And no wonder: with such great choices, it’s possible you’re looking at what block you want to put in your Ford truck. Happy to have been of service!
