2021 F-150

In a year that nothing went as expected, Ford made several headlines. Mostly good, but some not so great. We review the year that was 2020.

What is probably the most anticipated New Year’s Eve in history is only a couple weeks away. Most of us can’t wait to put this year behind us and pretend it was all a bad dream. But it wasn’t a dream, and if we are honest, it wasn’t all bad. Putting on our Ford-colored glasses we look back on the year and see that there was quite a bit that was good. There were new and updated products released, and some leadership changes. There were also times when Ford stepped up and supported those in their time of need. All things considered 2020 had more good Ford moments than bad. Although, there were a few less than stellar developments. We will review those as well.

As we move into 2021 we are filled with a sense of hope. Ford has a lot of new and exciting products that should be hitting the streets next year. Performance, off-road, and electric powered vehicles will all be making headlines in the coming months. Hopefully, we spend a lot more time reading those headlines and a lot less reading about masks and social distancing. However, before we can move forward, we must look back. This is what made Ford news in 2020.

The All-New F-150

2021 Ford F-150

The toughest, most connected, most productive, and most efficient F-150 ever produced was revealed in June. Ford has several influential products, but the F-150 is their defining vehicle. Whenever a new generation of F-150 is announced it is big news. This generation brings with it a hybrid powertrain and onboard power as a couple key highlights. In August we got our first up close look at this new generation truck and came away impressed. The new F-150 is without question one of the biggest Ford moments of 2020.

Joe has been obsessed with cars since he got his very first Matchbox toy in the ‘70s. In 2003, he found a new obsession in track days that led to obtaining his SCCA competition license in 2015. In 2019, he became a certified driving instructor for the National Auto Sport Association. His love for all things four wheels has never wavered, whether it's driving some of the best cars in the world on the racetrack, tackling 2,000-mile road trips in 2-seat sports cars or being winched off the side of a mountaintop in a Jeep. Writing for the suite of Internet Brands Auto Communities sites, including Rennlist.com, Ford Truck Enthusiasts, 6 Speed and more allows him to share that knowledge and passion with others.
