Ford Bronco Everglades

The new Bronco Everglades comes with class exclusive features and is available only to existing Bronco reservation holders.

Today Ford debuted the new 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades special edition. It has a unique graphics package that is typical of special edition vehicles. However, this Bronco goes far beyond simple graphics. It is engineered and outfitted to take on the toughest off the grid adventures. If you are looking for a Bronco to be your partner in a SHTF scenario then the Bronco Everglades is the model you want.

Bronco Everglades

The Bronco Everglades is the first Ford vehicle equipped with a factory-installed engine intake snorkel system. This special edition Bronco also comes with a Ford Performance heavy-duty modular front bumper. Integrated into that bumper is a 10,000-pound ZEON 10-S WARN Winch. Naturally the Sasquatch Package is also included. “Bronco customers like to explore new places, but some want to go even further off the trail than others,” said Jolanta Coffey, Bronco chief engineer. “Everglades is specially equipped to enable these customers to tackle even more challenging terrains and trails – and with the front bumper-mounted winch, they can help others out of trouble while they’re at it.”

Intake Snorkel

Intake Snorkel

Intake snorkels are nothing new, but Ford didn’t just slap something together. This is a well-engineered piece of off-road equipment. The snorkel was developed by Ford and features an innovative design. The snorkel runs up the passenger side A-pillar. It features two reversible and easy-to-swap inlet plates. The plates can be switched to direct the air intake forward or rearward based on trail and weather conditions. “We looked at snorkels out there and knew we had to do better,” said Joe Denatale, senior exterior designer. “What really sets this snorkel apart is the head and reversible intake. We completely changed the way a snorkel can look and function.”

Off-Road Hardware

In addition to the snorkel and winch the Bronco Everglades has front and rear axles, transfer case and transmission with raised vents for improved water fording. Combined, these design changes lead to water fording capability of 36.4 inches. The Everglades also comes standard with a protective safari bar, rock rails and the same steel bash plates found on Black Diamond and Badlands Bronco models. The Sasquatch Package is standard here but features 17-inch Carbonized Gray-painted alloy wheels instead of the usual high gloss black. On the outside you will also find rock rails on the lower sills. This Bronco will get you wherever you need to go.

Exterior Design

Bronco Everglades

As mentioned in the outset the Everglades has a unique graphics package that shows the Everglades topography on the front quarter fenders. Can you spot the elusive Florida panther? A more subtle design element is that the wheel arches have been squared off. Up front is a unique Carbonized Gray grille with gloss black Bronco lettering. The standard hardtop comes with a roof rack and cross bars. The Bronco Everglades is available in five exterior colors, including Everglades-exclusive low-volume Desert Sand, plus Eruption Green, Area 51, Shadow Black and Cactus Gray.

Interior Design

Hop inside the Bronco Everglades and you will notice right away that this rig is built to be utilitarian, not to impress your dinner date. This special edition comes with marine-grade vinyl seats and rubberized washout flooring. There are also subtle Urban Green accents on the grab handles, air vents and seats. The Everglades is equipped with the Mid Package but it also has the 12-inch Synch 4 system which is a combination that is not available on other Broncos.

Configurations and Pricing

Roof Rack

The Bronco Everglades is available as a four-door model only. The 2.3L EcoBoost making 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque is standard. Ordering will begin in March but only for existing reservation holders. If you missed your chance to place a Bronco reservation this is another reason to kick yourself. Pricing will start at $53,000 plus $1,495 destination and delivery charges.
