New Ford ‘Big Dog’ Ad Takes a Bite Out of Its Competitors
Ford commercial shows why the F-150 might just be man’s best friend.
In the latest commercial for the F-150, Denis Leary says in a voice over “If you’re not the lead dog, the scenery never changes.” It is a clever way to show that the Ford F-150 not only remains the undisputed leader of the pack, but also shows off the sharp tailgate. The commercial takes aim at Chevy and Ram, but unlike their competitors, never calls them out directly. And let’s face it, Ford doesn’t need to.
The ad shows the F-150 from behind, tearing up the road as Leary says “This is the view for every other full sized pickup.” The F-150 is so far ahead of everyone else in the game, they are literally eating Ford’s dust. And the trucks are having a blast and looking cool as hell while doing so.
Of course, the commercial points out that with it’s “high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloy” body, Ford consistently clinches best-in-class in payload, torque, and towing. This, plus its kickass performance is what makes the F-150 howl as the “Big Dog.” Silverado and Ram can try to redesign their trucks, but they just can’t catch up.
It’s a fun ad that shows the best way to sell the F-150 is to just show it doing what it does best. No “Real People” needed. Just real badass trucks.
