ICON Releases ‘Off-Road Armor’ for Second Gen Raptor
Impact series offers 2017-2019 Ford F-150 Raptor owners a bolt-on, modular front bumper and skid plate.
The off-road suspension experts at ICON Vehicle Dynamics have announced the release of its Impact Off-Road Armor Bumper and Skid Plate for the 2017-2019 Ford F-150 Raptor. This modular design offers owners a customizable front bumper that can hold up to extreme off-roading and fits the look and ruggedness of the second-generation Raptor.
ICON Impact Series Off-Road Armor is designed for the off-road enthusiast seeking a higher level of performance and protection while retaining OE styling cues and body lines. Staying true to ICON’s holistic engineering approach, Impact Series Armor has been thoroughly tested through countless hours of research and development to ensure precise fitment, proper clearance, exceptional durability, and maximum strength.
The Impact Series system utilizes a modular design, allowing the owner to customize the look and functionality of the bumper to perfectly match their style. The “wings” on either side can be removed and three-inch square pod lights, like those available from KC HiLiTES, Baja Designs or other similarly sized lights, can be added while the center section of the bumper is designed to accommodate a 40-inch curved light bar.
While this bumper can be installed using the existing factory skid plate, it can be upgraded with the addition of the Impact Series skid plate to provide increased underbody protection. Additionally, the center section of the bumper retains the brackets used for the radar and adaptive cruise control, allowing owners to maintain full functionality of those systems.

Utilizing 1/8-inch steel construction for the skin of the bumper, 1/2-inch steel for the recovery tabs and 1/4-inch steel for the mounting structures, the ICON Impact Series Bumper was made to withstand extreme off-road use. The optional Impact Series Skid Plate is constructed of 3/16-inch aluminum and helps protect the lower control arm pivots. The recovery points on the bumper are relocated higher than the factory location for improved ground clearance while retaining off-road functionality and fit standard 7/8-inch shackles and accessories.
The Impact Series Off-Road Armor Bumper and Skid Plate retail for around $1,800 for the complete package, or approximately $1,600 for the bumper, and $420 for the skid plate if ordered separately. Each piece is finished in a durable black powder coat and fits the 2017-2019 Ford F-150 Raptor with no fabrication required for installation. Both the bumper and the skid plate provide a direct fit with OEM bumper-mounting locations.
