Ford Econoline E-150 Van Road Trip

Canadian travelers go on the road in E-150 van for epic adventure of a lifetime across North America.

Two adventure-loving Canadians named Nick and Jannus decided to follow their dream of traveling North America in a 2003 Ford Econoline E-150 conversion van. Going by the name Quest to the West, Nick and Jannus bought a van, converted it into a home on wheels, and hit the road. It was the trip of a lifetime, and they documented it in great detail along the way. They captured the freedom and allure of being on the road. Here is their story, travelogue, and incredible pictures.

Prepping the Ride

Before they could embark on a road trip, they needed the right set of wheels.

They bought a used 2003 Ford Econoline E-150 with about 101,000 miles on the odometer. It was a solid van, although cosmetically it was in need of some renovations, especially because the interior was decked out in green AstroTurf. Cosmetic issues aside, the van was rust-free and in great driving condition. Nick was sure this was the van to take on a road trip, “We already had a good base to start with.”
