Give Your Newer Super Duty the Lariat Look on a Budget

2017 Ford F-150 Lariat Wheels

Factory 20-inch wheels and tires from a 2017 F-250 are being sold for a fraction of their original cost.

The 20-inch optional wheels that came on a 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty Lariat look incredible with their bright polished finish and thick spoke design providing a very premium look. The problem is that to get those wheels, you had to buy a Lariat with the Chrome Package, leading to an MSRP of over $50,000, as these wheels weren’t offered on the models leading up to the Lariat.

Fortunately, “PatsfanTN” has listed a set of 2017 F-250 Lariat Chrome Package wheels in the FTE Marketplace and with a price of $1,000 with usable tires, they are considerably less than the MSRP when new or the current replacement cost.

The Introduction

When the OP listed the wheels from his 2017 Ford F-250 in the marketplace, he offered the following basic information.

2017 F250 Lariat 20″ wheels and tires. The Michelin’s have 25k miles and in great shape.
Tire pressure sensors have been removed.

So, if you were putting them on a truck with a tire pressure monitoring system and you want that system to work, you will have to install the sensors. If your truck can wear these wheels and it doesn’t have a tire pressure monitoring system, you could buy these, bolt them on and hit the road in style.

Upsides and Downsides

These 2017 Ford F-250 Lariat Chrome Package wheels are listed in the marketplace for $1,000. Picking these wheels as an option on the current 2019 F-250 costs over $1,300 and that doesn’t include the upcharge for the tires. More importantly, if you were to go to a dealership today and try to order four of these wheels, it would cost way more than a grand, so as wheel-and-tire packages go, this is a great price for lightly used items.

With that in mind, if you have a truck that came from the factory with these wheels and you really like the look, it might be worth your time and money to buy these as spares for your F-250.

The only downside is that the seller is in the Nashville, Tennessee area and he doesn’t want to ship them, so if you live elsewhere, you will have to travel to pick them or find someone local to get them and ship them for you. However, if the drive isn’t too far and you have a truck that can ride on these bright, polished wheels, this is a great deal.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
