Ford Working on Explorer Truck Project?!?
If you’re a fan of Ford trucks, and I’m assuming you are since you’re reading a story on Ford Truck Enthusiasts, you should definitely be following Ford’s Truck Communications Manager Mike Levine on Twitter. Why? Because occasionally he’ll post sneak peeks of some of the things he and his team are working on. Like today, he shared that their doing something with the F-100 and F-150 Explorer.
For those who aren’t familiar with the Explorer trim level on the F-100 and F-150, allow me to cite the bastion of Internet knowledge known as Wikipedia;
Explorer- a limited edition options and trim group with year-specific stripes unique to the Explorer. offered as Explorer Package A, B, C, or D. Explorer Package A was the most basic, similar to the Custom, while the Explorer Package D was the highest level, much like the Ranger Lariat.
Long before there was a Ford Explorer SUV, there was a Ford Explorer truck. It seems that the Ford team is working on something special to pay homage to that classic truck and trim. But what will it be?
I’m sure just after seeing that picture you’re all giddy with excitement!
Pretty badass…
Could it have something to do with the new 2016 F-150 Special Edition Package?
We’ll have to wait and see, of course. But have no fear, we’ll let you know as soon as we know about this project they’re working on. Until then, sound off with your theories and speculation over in the forums!
