Patriotic Ford truck comes with hydraulic bed cover, wheelchair crane & plenty of heartfelt thanks.

Our servicemen and women of the United States Armed Forces do everything they can to defend freedom and liberty around the world. Sometimes, that means sacrificing parts of their bodies to ensure no innocent lives are ultimately lost in battle.

According to Tire Review, Wounded Warriors Family Support recently paid tribute to one such soldier during its ninth annual High Five Tour by awarding them a custom F-150 Raptor.

Scott West received the F-150 Raptor in New York on Veterans Day at the end of the months-long High Five Tour, which kicked off in April of this year. West was a specialist in the U.S. Army, and received three Purple Hearts during his tour of duty in Iraq over a decade ago.

The F-150 Raptor is outfitted with a hydraulic topper, which reveals the wheelchair lift in the bed. Meanwhile, the cab features a transfer seat for the driver to easily enter and exit the truck, which can be operated with hand controls.

The cherry on top of this custom F-150 Raptor, however, is the over-40,000 signatures collected from its travels across the country. Some signatures are just that, while others come with messages of support and thanks to all of our military for what they do for the country and the world.

“When the U.S. goes to war, so do the families of U.S. military men and women,” said SimpleTire co-founder and CEO Andy Chalofsky, whose company sponsors the High Five Tour. “They also take on huge burdens that can cause enduring stress and trauma, especially when a family member returns wounded or is killed while serving. We are honored to have the opportunity to help veterans and their families in any way we can and are proud to be a main sponsor of the High Five Tour over the years.”
