The Mustang is far and away Ford’s breadwinner when it comes to racing, but that doesn’t mean the F-150 can’t hang tough.

Here in the United States, we have some pretty impressive police interceptors. A V8 Charger isn’t exactly a slouch. But if you live in a country where fleeing off-road is even more of an option, you need some serious hardware to pursue. In Australia, that’s a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor converted for police duty.

This week’s Tire Smokin’ video features the kind of truck that you would expect to see doing a burnout – a 6-door F-650 dually.

There are many reasons why an old Ford may need to be rebuilt. A lot of times it’s because someone has left the rig sitting for far too long. Other times it is because there was a very unfortunate wreck and the owner can’t handle fixing such serious damages.

Ford “confirmed” they were working very hard on putting together a hybrid F-150. The Hybrid engine will most likely use a version of the 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine and will likely return 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.

Trucks keep getting more and more expensive! Trucks used to be a tool to tow a trailer or work on a construction site, but now often perform the role of the family car. Buyers demand creature comforts like satellite radio and leather seats. That’s one of many reasons for the price increase. But even base prices have soared.

Now that the holiday season is officially upon us, it’s a good time to start shopping around for deals. A new 2015 F-150 or even a golf cart version of a Ford Raptor may be out of our budgets, but this little SVT push buggy just might be the answer.
