BFGoodrich Presents BUILDUP A 1995 F-150 Flareside Build
All Ford truck enthusiasts have a specific truck they favor the most. For some, nothing beats the original. They’ll do whatever it takes to get their hands on a Ford truck from the forties or fifties. For others, the newest model is always the best.
They jump on the new aluminum 2015 F-150 like it’s the newest iPhone, or a slice of award-winning pumpkin pie. Many people fall in between, liking the trucks of the sixties, seventies, eighties, or nineties — or all of the above.
As for FTE member NiftytheF150, he seems to like the Ford trucks of the nineties, considering he is working on a 1995 Ford F-150 Flareside Extended Cab build.
The Florida resident found the rig for sale on Craigslist for two thousand dollars. After pointing out some flaws (transmission was shot) and haggling a bit, he got the price down to seven hundred dollars.
Nonetheless, once he had gotten the rig home he began the process of getting the truck mechanically sound, and this took three thousand more dollars. He rebuilt the transmission, did brake work, got a new front end, new tires, a new dashboard, and a new dash bezel and finally it was mechanically fit.
Then NiftytheF150 moved on to the fun stuff, and began to focus on making the rig look nicer. He painted it a gloss black, put in new seats and a black vinyl headliner, and slapped on a nice, clean Ford emblem.
He still is planning on adding interior lights and a console from an Explorer, but overall the truck looks great. We’re not sure what else NiftytheF150 plans to do with this rig, but it is certainly moving fast and looks great!
