VIDEO: 2021 F-150 Lariat Build Makes 650 Horsepower
This 2021 F-150 Lariat build combines a Whipple supercharger and Corsa exhaust to crank out 650 horsepower!
American Trucks is back at it with a new truck project and recently released the first video on their YouTube series, The Haul. Titled “Justin’s 2021 F-150 Build – Stage 1,” it features Justin Dugan’s new project, a 2021 F-150 Lariat. The Lariat replaces Justin’s 2017 Ford Raptor, which he had previously upgraded for serious off-road performance. With the Lariat, he going in a totally different direction. This time, the plan is to build a truck that’s more “street inspired, with a whole lot of horsepower.” The goal for stage 1 is to double the power and then head to the Maple Grove Raceway and test out the results.
The AT build starts with a Corsa Sport exhaust system. This system not only adds a bump in power but adds a nice rumble to the 5.0 V8 in the F-150 Lariat.
Next, AT adds a Whipple supercharger kit to the 5.0-liter V8. The Whipple kit is tailor-made for the 5.0-liter V8 in the F-150. It installs easily and looks good in the engine bay. In stock form, the V8 puts out 400 horsepower and 410 lb. feet of torque. Installing Corsa exhaust and the Whipple supercharger add a total of 250 horsepower over the stock F-150, bumping the total to 650.
With both the exhaust and supercharger mods installed, Stage 1 is complete. The only thing left to do is head to the track at Maple Grove and put the Lariat through its paces.
American Trucks hopes this build inspires truck lovers, giving them ideas on to customize their own rides. In future videos, they plan to “throw a whole ton of modifications” at the F-150 Lariat. We can’t wait to see what they have in store for stage 2 of the build.
