Amazing Unrestored 1982 Ford Bronco Has Just 3,500 Original Miles
Stored in an aircraft hangar its entire life by the original owner, this 1982 Ford Bronco looks like a brochure model.
As they say, a rising tide lifts all boats, and that’s particularly true in the world of collectible automobiles. Just take a look at the Ford Bronco, for example – the soaring popularity of the first- and second-gen models has made even the less-popular later generations valuable. That has, in turn, led to a number of low-mile examples coming out of the proverbial woodwork, including this amazing 1982 Ford Bronco that’s up for grabs at Mecum’s upcoming Kissimmee auction.
With just 3,500 original miles on the clock, you’d imagine that this 1982 Ford Bronco might look like a brand new vehicle, and it certainly does. The original owner purchased it from Dub Richardson Ford Inc. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, then reportedly kept the big-bodied SUV until 2018, storing it in an aircraft hanger throughout its entire life. The two-tone Dark Brown Metallic and Wimbledon White paint is in simply fantastic condition, as is the state of the original trim and adorning pieces.
This immaculately preserved Bronco comes with the original build sheet, window sticker, and owner’s manual, and quite simply looks like it rolled out of a time machine recently. The nutmeg-toned cloth and vinyl pattern interior is equally sanitary and contains a variety of amenities including air conditioning, an AM/FM stereo, tinted glass, and a flip/fold rear seat, to name a few.
Power for this gorgeous machine comes from Ford’s 351/5.8-liter V8 mated to an automatic transmission, and the Bronco also features automatic locking front hubs, an independent front suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, power steering, power brakes, and factory skid plates underneath. Rolling on a set of 10-hole cast-aluminum wheels wrapped with Goodyear Wrangler Radial P235/75R15 tires, this stunningly original Bronco is certainly brochure-worthy.
There was a time, not terribly long ago when the third-gen Bronco wasn’t that desirable among collectors. Those days are over, of course, and this very original, very unused 1982 Ford Bronco figures to attract plenty of interest at auction next month.
