The latest entry in the growing group of overlanding-focused Ford Super Duty trucks out there.

There are quite a few Ford Super Duty based overlanding builds out there in the world at the moment, and for good reason – the large truck makes a fantastic base for custom off-road-focused camper builds, particularly in heavier, medium-duty form. The booming popularity of overlanding has led to the creation of several aftermarket upfitters, a list that now includes a company called 27North and its own Ford Super Duty F-550 based build, the Ascender 30A.

27North builds a variety of cool off-road-focused campers, but the Ascender 30A is obviously the one that caught our proverbial eye, thanks to the fact that it’s based on a truck that we’re quite familiar with. It’s also a luxurious living space for up to four people that can take you pretty much anywhere you might want to go, largely thanks to the custom camper that’s positioned directly behind the cab on the frame.

Inside that particular box, you’ll find all sorts of cool stuff including a full kitchen, dining room, shower, kitchen, and a bed. Pretty much any kind of amenity one might be looking for is here, including a toilet, stove, fridge, freezer, and most everything else that you’ll need to spending days or weeks at a time out on the trails. The whole thing rolls on a set of military style wheels and beefy tires for venturing off the pavement as well.

With a massive 150-gallon diesel tank onboard, the Ascender 30A can also travel a whopping 3,000 miles on a single (albeit expensive) fill up, and it also has 100 gallons of water on tap for showering and cooking purposes. Four lithium-ion batteries supply the electricity one needs, along with a pair of alternators and roof-mounted solar panels, which should provide plenty of off-the-grid power.

There’s just one problem with the Ascender 30A that plagues most of these types of builds, however – it’s expensive, with a starting price tag of $750,000. One can easily exceed the million-dollar mark with the right options, which is obviously a lot of money. However, for those that seek adventure and have the means, it’s a pretty intriguing offering, regardless.
