2023 Ford Super Duty Racks up 150K Orders in Just Over a Month

The 2023 Ford Super Duty is so red hot with customers that it’s worth wondering when order banks will close.

Following its debut in September, 2023 Ford Super Duty order banks opened up in late October – on the 27th, to be specific – and eager customers were clearly ready. For the last five days of the month, those folks placed an astounding 52,000 orders for the brand new, redesigned pickup, proving that there was some seriously pent up demand for the heavy-duty hauler. However, things didn’t really slow down by much through the month of November either, as The Blue Oval reports that they’ve now taken a total of 150,000 orders as of that point in time.

That’s an impressive quantity by any measure, and it makes one wonder – how much longer will order banks for the new Super Duty remain open, given this strong demand and production issues caused by ongoing supply chain issues? After all, Ford has shut down order banks for a number of its models in recent months due to high demand, including the 2022 Super Duty, Maverick, and F-150, to name just a few. In fact, Maverick order banks were closed after just a few days as the automaker works through its massive backlog of existing orders.

The current-gen Super Duty and F-150 saw their order banks close in just a few months as well, so it’s anybody’s guess what happens with the latest and greatest version of the former. We have to imagine that once Ford reaches the point where its production capacity for the year is met that it will do the same, but what that number might be, well, only the automaker knows right now.

Regardless, those that do order a 2023 Super Duty are getting quite the machine, one that’s received updated styling inside and out, along with new tech features, a new base engine option, and various other tweaks. As far as production goes, XL, XLT, and Lariat trimmed pickups are expected to begin rolling off the line early next year, while the more luxurious Platinum, King Ranch, and Limited trims will follow in the spring of 2023.
