CGS Performance Products cooks up a seriously attractive Explorer ST loaded with goodies for SEMA 2019.

When the 2020 Explorer ST debuted, Ford proved to the world it could, in fact, make a pretty darn quick version of its legendary SUV. Packing 400 horsepower and all-wheel drive, this family hot rod can do 0-60 in just 5.2-seconds. Who says moms and dads have to drive boring vehicles? But for those looking to jazz up the looks, power, and inside entertainment of their Explorer ST even more, CGS Performance Products brought an even-cooler version to SEMA 2019.

First, CGS coaxed a few more ponies and some sound out of the ST’s 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with a custom Borla cat-back exhaust. They then lowered the ‘ute and added a prototype Ford Performance skid plate to protect its undersides. The Explorer looks fantastic as well, sitting on a set of super attractive 24″ forged Savani wheels, wrapped in 285/35 Pirelli P-Zero tires.

CGS then sent the Explorer over to Andy Meeh for a custom Sikkens paint job that absolutely popped under the SEMA lights. DUB IR window tint helps complete the look, and it all works together to take an already nice-looking vehicle to the next level. What soccer mom/dad wouldn’t love to drop the kids off in this bad boy, then head out for a spirited drive to the grocery store?

Even better, the interior packs a host of entertainment, comfort, and storage options. To keep the kids occupied (and quiet), there’s a Voxx/Ford Play rear seat entertainment system in the back. Floor liners and a cargo mat provide a little added protection, while a cargo organizer keeps your purchases separated. There’s also a Console Vault vehicle safe for your valuables, and a DC Safety roadside emergency and first aid kit in case things go south. Wrap it all up in custom Alea Leather hides, and you’ve got a seriously nice place to soak up a road trip.

Ford’s Explorer ST is already a nice, highly capable machine that does everything well. But CGS Performance Products clearly took it to a whole new level with this incredible SEMA build. With sharp looks, lots of creature comforts, and a bit more performance, it’s truly an Explorer that any parent would love to have in their garage.
