A 1979 Ford F-250 Build with a Plan

FTE Build

One good rule of thumb when it comes to builds is that one ought to have a plan together before they begin. This, ideally, should mean that they ought to have a plan together before they even set out to purchase a project truck. While life rarely goes smoothly enough for this to happen, it’s a good thing to strive for. After all, the last thing anyone wants is for a basic build to end up costing twenty grand in the long-haul. Unless, of course, that is the plan from the start!

FTE member 650 purchased his current project about two years ago after he finished a previous build. While it has been on the back burner for some time, he does have a plan in place and has finally gotten to doing some work on the outstanding ride. To be more specific, 650 is working on building up his 1979 Ford F-250. His plans include a Cummins swap, a Dana 60 front end, a 10.25 rear, and a 4R100 transmission from a 7.3L Super Duty.

One smart thing that 650 has done was gather the majority of his parts before beginning the build, and it seems to be going well so far! So far he had pulled off the cab, checked the frame, and fabricated some new mounts for the ride. Go stop by his build thread and show your support!
