2017 Ford GT Stops By Jay Leno’s Garage for a Visit

Jay Leno's Garage

Whether or not you think Jay Leno is funny, you have to admit he is a car guy’s car guy. His collection of automobiles is matched by no one on this planet, and he has a deal with CNBC to show off some of his cool stuff to you in a show called Jay Leno’s Garage. In addition to his own metal, automakers bring by their newest and greatest to show off. Ford’s Raj Nair recently did that with the 2017 Ford GT.

The Ford GT isn’t new to Leno’s garage; he owns one already. But the new one is entirely different, and Ford is taking it racing to Le Mans again this next year. The street version is the one they bring to the show, in the same gray paint that we saw back at the most recent Ford Trends conference in San Francisco.

Ford hasn’t raced at Le Mans since the last time they won, meaning they’re basically undefeated at that event. With that kind of history, Ford has everything to lose with their new car, so they need to make sure it’s perfect. With over 600 horsepower from the turbocharged EcoBoost V6, it has the power plant to do it.

How will it do once it starts racing next year? We’ll have to wait and find out.
