Help with chassis bracket id?
There is a welded on bracket on each side of the chassis between the radiator and track bar mount that I don't know the purpose of. Seems odd to have a useless part as vehicle mfg's don't just add stuff for no reason. Is it a carryover from a van etc? My truck is a V10 and it seems to be in pics of diesels that don't use it either.
Item is located on the upper far left in the pic at the following page. Don't mind the rest of the pic...

I have an idea in my head but want to know what I'm looking at first...
Thanks!

Just a guess
Is it possible that it has something to do with a factory mount for a snow plow?

Did some digging and did find an aftermarket snow plow that uses this piece for mounting. If you look at the following instructions they show how their bracketry ties into this area. They refer to the bracket on the chassis as a "swaybar bracket" on the F250 and F350, but I don't think that is correct as the swaybar is behind the axle. Does anyone know if this area was used to mount a swaybar?

Sway bar
Not personally being well versed in snow plows I'll leave the definitive answer to someone who is, but I'm thinking it may be some type of cross bar on the plow itself that they're referring to as the sway bar, vice the one on the truck's suspension.
