Help with chassis bracket id?

There is a welded on bracket on each side of the chassis between the radiator and track bar mount that I don't know the purpose of. Seems odd to have a useless part as vehicle mfg's don't just add stuff for no reason. Is it a carryover from a van etc? My truck is a V10 and it seems to be in pics of diesels that don't use it either.

Item is located on the upper far left in the pic at the following page. Don't mind the rest of the pic...

I have an idea in my head but want to know what I'm looking at first...

Thanks!

Just a guess

Is it possible that it has something to do with a factory mount for a snow plow?

Very well could serve the purpose of mounting a snow plow or other accessory. I have a feeling figuring out what it is exactly may be tough, but hopefully I can figure it out.

Anyone else know by chance?

Did some digging and did find an aftermarket snow plow that uses this piece for mounting. If you look at the following instructions they show how their bracketry ties into this area. They refer to the bracket on the chassis as a "swaybar bracket" on the F250 and F350, but I don't think that is correct as the swaybar is behind the axle. Does anyone know if this area was used to mount a swaybar?

Sway bar

Not personally being well versed in snow plows I'll leave the definitive answer to someone who is, but I'm thinking it may be some type of cross bar on the plow itself that they're referring to as the sway bar, vice the one on the truck's suspension.

Thanks! It seems like a swaybar mount but since these were all still leaf front I wouldn't think they would have incorporated that until later...obviously they were planning ahead?

Do the RWD EXs and trucks have the front sway bar mounted there?

And thanks one more time! It looks to me like there might be room to use the 2wd swaybar on the 4wd. I don't see the leaf flexing enough to hit where the mount would be but will do some checking. I don't like how the 4wd version hangs so low behind the axle, just asking to get hit offroad.

Thanks again guys!!!

I mounted my sway bar on the frame and the links go to the axle.
It's a custom 4 link/coil conversion though

Thanks Pirate4x4_camo! I don't see why it wouldn't work as long as there is clearance between the mount and leaf spring under full stuff. I realize I would need to add the mount to the axle side, and possibly build custom links, but I can do that no problem. If a 2wd bar would work that would make the conversion fairly easy...which if it clears the tire on a 2wd not sure why it wouldn't on a 4wd too.

Another project added to the list of which I don't have time for
