Ran one in the 351M and the 400 i had and I wouldn't say it was a rough idle. But it did have what several would say as a noticeable idle or yes, slightly lopey. Either way...you will be happy with the added benefits that cam has to offer. Works very well with a 4bbl intake and headers. And a new timing set installed straight up.....

I run a 270 comp cam in my 460 & it has a very lopey idle. I also installed a 268 in a 352 you could notice it had a cam but was fairly smooth, if I were to build another for somewhat daily driving I'd use the 268

I prefer the 268 also, has a RPM band of 1300-5000 if I remember correctly

Thabks guys glad ill be able to notice itll have a cam with the idle. Its not that big of a deal to me but itd be nice to have a "cool" idle. Idrather have the benefits of low end power than cool sounding idle with high end power.

Here is what I recommend you do. I am doing this exact thing when I get my tax return back come Aprilish.

Have Comp Cams custom grind you the same lobes from a HE262 but with a 106 degree LSA. I am getting this exact came made for my 408W.

The tighter LSA has been proven to provide much better torque across the entire RPM band. Far superior that the stock extreme energy cams with 110 LSA for the smaller cams.

Also with the tighter LSA you get a more aggressive sound. The best of both worlds.

Look up LSA dyno shootouts. They are multiple out there for both Ford and Chevy. A smaller duration cam with tighter LSA spanked a slightly higher duration cam with a 4-5 degree wider LSA across the entire RPM band.

Custom grinds are only a few dollars more depending on what core they may have to use.
