I have a 2004 ford ranger that just stopdped running last Saturday for an unknown reason at the time... I got the truck about 3 months ago and have had no problems with it at all. I towed it home had my dad and a few friends come by and check it out... Came to the conclusion that the fuel pump was bad... We could not hear the fuel pump turn on at all. I replaced the fuel pump, still won't turn on... Checked the relay it has power. Checked the plug at the fuel pump and it's only getting 0.33 volts. I checked the voltage at the relay in fuse box under the hood is reading 11.54 volts... Don't know what to do still won't start after switching the fuse with a working one...

Please help!!

 

Did you check the fuel pump shutoff? It is located under the right side of glove box just above carpet. Try pushing the button to see if it can be reset. Verify fuse 23 in under hood fuse box is good ( in spite of power to relay) to rule it out.

try changing the fuel pump relay with one you know that works,,,like horn just to be sure

 

@ Maz & Schultz: Don't know if this is applicable to a 2004, but on my '88 ranger, it was called an inertia switch.
