I finally got my tranny swap done, thanks to a lot of great info here. Took it for a spin last night and all was well- or so I think. I have a cel and I scanned codes and bunch came up for the auto trans... Shift solenoid, temp etc, I was told that the Pcm I bought with the parts was for a manual, but would it still throw those codes? Even with a manual pcm? I didn't think it would. I could be wrong. The casing for the " manual " Pcm had a hole for a ts chip- maybe the PO just had a ts re burned? Any thoughts? I didn't think a manual pcm would throw auto codes.

Yes, this will tell us if it is an auto or manual PCM. It sounds like the typical case of running an auto PCM with a manual trans swap. Get a bunch of codes, the acc pedal does work right, etc.

In an interesting turn of events I swapped my old pcm back in and the truck runs awesome. Tons of power, I can't keep up shifting it fast enough.

XLE4 code designates the PCM is for an automatic truck, explaining why you were receiving all of the codes for an auto truck. Worst case you can get Jody to flash the XLE4 for you and have it as a backup or sell it as-is.
