I do however hear what I think is the turbo cycling up and down but the boost gauge remains pretty steady while accelerating... It cycles on and off, on and off... Kind of like an airy sound. Also the truck when cold start smokes white cloud just a second and the truck at wot with both ebp plugged in and not plugged in produce a small white cloud of smoke. I just want to drive my truck 😭 I have well over 10k or repairs this year in it and can't afford any more. I'm praying it's an easy fix. But I don't know what else to do... I was gonna check for an exhausts leak but I didn't have anyone who could help me today

I have a truck I just put a drop in engine in for a customer and it has similar issues to yours. With the white smoke and turbo fluctuations, has anyone thought about a fuel issue? If a truck is starving for fuel it can blow white/grayish smoke. Can you check your fuel pressure? Is your frame rail pump noisy?

I got the truck fixed that I had mentioned earlier. Would start with a cloud of white smoke then would progressively run worse and had a miss. Error codes were cylinder 2 and 4 contribution. Ended up I either didn't get injector 4 tightened down enough or washer damaged which lead to combustion chamber gases melted the lower o-ring on the injector filling the cylinder with fuel. In either case that's what I found.
