Not at 5" turbo back... The wiring on the pigtail is very clean no problems... Replaced with an OEM sensor.

The only other thing that could be suspect in my mind is the VGT solenoid valve itself.

I originally thought vgt solonoid but I ruled it out because my boost remains constant... Doesn't fluctuate at all when the truck studders and the ebp does. Boost also works flawlessly with ebp unplugged it's just slow to build boost.

I do however hear what I think is the turbo cycling up and down but the boost gauge remains pretty steady while accelerating... It cycles on and off, on and off... Kind of like an airy sound. Also the truck when cold start smokes white cloud just a second and the truck at wot with both ebp plugged in and not plugged in produce a small white cloud of smoke. I just want to drive my truck 😭 I have well over 10k or repairs this year in it and can't afford any more. I'm praying it's an easy fix. But I don't know what else to do... I was gonna check for an exhausts leak but I didn't have anyone who could help me today

The white smoke is scaring me. I have an egr delete, and I got new head gaskets with arp head studs about 6 months ago... What also would cause a white smoke on hard acceleration?

I have a truck I just put a drop in engine in for a customer and it has similar issues to yours. With the white smoke and turbo fluctuations, has anyone thought about a fuel issue? If a truck is starving for fuel it can blow white/grayish smoke. Can you check your fuel pressure? Is your frame rail pump noisy?

Now that you mention it my smoke is kinda grayish more than white... When I turn the key on I hear the pump cut on and sounds normal to me... How can I check fuel pressure? Can I do it on my scanner? Thanks

Unfortunately fuel pressure isn't monitored by the PCM so you can not pull it through a scanner. You are going to need to get an aftermarket fuel pressure gauge and install to monitor. There is a brass allen-head screw on the side of the FPR where you want to tap into.

I will check fuel pressure later today, maybe this could be the cause since my truck is experiencing some of the worst mpg it has ever seen.

I got the truck fixed that I had mentioned earlier. Would start with a cloud of white smoke then would progressively run worse and had a miss. Error codes were cylinder 2 and 4 contribution. Ended up I either didn't get injector 4 tightened down enough or washer damaged which lead to combustion chamber gases melted the lower o-ring on the injector filling the cylinder with fuel. In either case that's what I found.

Interesting, mine runs better as it gets warmer... Still have hesitation around 2000 rpm... If I watch carefully I can see my rmp's are also jumping with the sound. What could that be a cause of? Again no more error codes?

Did you ever figure out what it was that was causing your issue?

If he did I doubt he is coming back to tell us. His last activity here at FTE was in 2014. Last Activity: 11-05-2014 10:19 PM
