Turbo pressure sensor

So I took my 2005 F-250 muddin one night and it ran good after I cleaned it a little but a couple months later I noticed not so normal sounds coming from the exhaust. I think it is my turbo pressure sensor but I want to make sure before I go out and get one. So I start it up and it runs good and starts good, it's got over 200,000 miles on it. The oil pressure will rise like it's supposed to but after a minute or so it'll start switching from engine to turbo over and over. It's like the truck wants to realese all it's boost. It gives good boost but I just hate the noise it makes. It goes straight engine sound and then to turbo, then back to straight engine like its disengaging the turbo basically. Any suggestions or am I about in the right spot? Just wanna be sure before I go out and get a brand new sensor for it.

I think what you are describing is the sound of the turbo vanes cycling. Totally normal.

If it is cycling a lot you may have a turbo that is starting to get sticky.

X2. Especially on a cold start, it will cycle the vanes. If I did NOT hear it do this then I'd suspect the unison ring is stuck.
Does it do it ALL the time when driving or just at idle?
