Thanks for the rep! All the manufacturers did poorly in the early days of smog abatement, but Ford did really well with the temperature-controlled air cleaner. Unfortunately, too many people lump that into the same boat as smog pumps et al and rip it all off. Then they have no place to get filtered air for the PCV system and their carb is fed cold air in the winter and hot air in the summer, neither of which is advantageous.
