oil cooler???'s

hi guys, im in the market for a new oil cooler for my '07 . mine is BAD. ive got a 20 degree spread between EOT and ECT. this will be the forth cooler. ford replace the first 3 and now i out of warranty. u guys have opinions on installing the bulletproof diesel remote cooler or sticking wit the OEM cooler? if i do stay wit the OEM cooler do i have to flush the oil system? and if so how do i do that? i just did the coolant flush a week ago so i think thats good. thanks

I got my new Maxxforce oil cooler from River City Diesel. Don't know about the Bulletproof remote, but someone should. You should change the oil after the oil cooler replacement. I have not heard of flushing the oil system. Did you use the VC-9 during the coolant flush and run distilled water until it came clear (2 weeks and 30+ gallons for mine, IIRC). If not, you should before installing the new oil cooler. Don't forget to install a coolant filter also.

Just since labor day. Took me 46 hours to put it in mostly by myself. Reconditioned turbo while it was out, and I had a few parts left over.

Did you notice any improvement on your temperature spread when you did the flush?

Forgot to ask if you did the flush for about an hour on the highway?

it has been mentioned on here before and since iv been doing some tranny work I have noticed that you could probably peice together a remote oil cooler for 1/4 of the price. some of these oil coolers for trannys are not very expensive at all compared to 1800.00 for the kit or at least the one I saw at bullet proof diesel. Four oil coolers for an 07 seems like alot to me do you have a coolant filter

I have a pdf of the ford manual for the oil cooler removal - I was going to attach it for you but don't have that privilege or something. Maybe someone else can - I got it off FTE, searching the oil cooler posts. I could email it directly if you wanted.

Wow, four bad coolers? That is incredible, especially for an 07.

Sounds like it was just a factory replacement since Maxxforce is an International "brand name", or is it a remote setup?? All I could see in your gallery was what looked to be a stock oil cooler replacement
