1950 F Truck

We have a 1950 Ford truck that's been in my grandma's barn for close to 45 years. It last ran in the 70's. Were thinking of selling it now but have no idea what it would sell for?? Any hints at how to value the truck?

It depends on the condition as always. Where are you located? There are members all over the country. Maybe one of us is close by and we could give you an idea. Any pictures?

I'd like to see a close up of the hood ornament. If you could get it running without a lot of hassle, and if it had brakes you would be ahead of the game.

It's quite impossible to give you an accurate estimate of the truck's worth based on those 2 pictures. There are members on here with more knowledge and interest in the bigger trucks. Some obvious places to look is ebay, hemmings motor news, and various other national trade publications. But I will say this, you're gonna get a lot of posts on this thread I imagine. My email is littlefordf1@gmail.com if you want to shoot me a contact number and maybe we can dig up some more information and gve you a better idea.

We really need to know more information to get an idea of how to help you. What model is it, hard to be sure by the pictures, but it looks to be an F5 or F6? What engine does it have, the 6 or 8 cylinder, or does it have an engine other than original? Does it run now or when was the last time it ran? Where in Michigan is it located? I am in Tennessee but my FIL lives in Michigan and I will be driving up there in about 2 weeks
BTW, I like the color, could be a match to my F5.

In round numbers, your truck is worth less than a thousand bucks. How much less depends on a few things as mentioned above, but it's not ready for Barrett-Jackson just as it sits. Usually when a truck sits in a barn like that, there is a lot of collateral damage to wiring and interior (even the engine) from rodents and bugs. It appears to be a large truck (not an F-1) and they are worth even less to most folks.

Ross is on the money with his evaluation.

The hood ornament is not a stock item for the truck. Most were added as an "afterthought" by the owners.

I'm waiting to hear back from my family to find out more info on the truck. around 1000 to 2000 was what i was thinking. Its interesting to note that about the hood ornament. The truck was owned by my great uncle who i never met. Interesting to think he is the one that probably put that on there.

Unless it is actually running, I believe that you are reaching rather high to shoot for over $1,000. However, there may be more to the story than your pictures. If those are rust holes that I see on the driver's side fender, next to and above the headlight, that may be an indication of more rust through problems. With that said, I would be interested in seeing it. Farmgirl, where in Michigan is it located?
