What Orange is my F-250 '77
Hey Folks,
I am all the way over here in Hawaii, and my f250 1977, is getting eaten by the rust, so Iam taking on the job of repairing it... but I cant find the right paint... its orange... but can anyone tell me from experience what ford orange is this...
thanks! (if you know of a cheaper brand too?)

cool truck brah!
I just bought a 77 with the same dual tanks box config that you have. Can you tell me how the tank switching works on yours and the way the switch works on the dash for the gauge? My gauge may not be working on one of the tanks. I have a manual valve beside the drivers seat. Someone wrote all over it so it is hard to read but I think it says "main" at the 3 o'clock position and "box" at the 6 o'clock position.
For my dash toggle switch, it only seems to read above E when it is to the far right. Also, it seems this is a 3 way toggle (right, left and middle) but I would have expected only 2 position. What is yours?

In '77 the factory setup had a two position switch mounted to the right side of the a/c-heater controls. This switch controlled both the tank selection and the fuel gauge.
If you have a manual valve and a toggle switch it was added later, maybe dealer installed.

Here is the PPG color chart for the '77 Ford truck. Chrome yellow looks like the old school bus yellow. It has a deffinite yellow to it, the truck pictured has an orange color.
