i have a 2wd f250 hd with a 460 at 236,000 miles .... best engine by ford but what is the restricter horns and cutting them for more power? on the intake or somethingthx
You will find them in the tubes going from the air cleaner box to the throttle body on the engine. it's the plastic piece the 2 hoses go to on the top of the engine.
thx but what does it actually do , and what do you actually cut off the plastic thing? i dont wanna f up my engine and im still kinda new to this stuff ....thx agian
they are just for the intake air to the throttle body. like a cold air intake system.
if you have a look at them you will notice that at the end they narrow down and have a flared opening on them. like a suction bell design. you cut off the narrowed section leaving the pipe one diameter right to the end. suppose to add about 20hp. talking to the people that have done it to their truck, it does make a noticeable difference in the truck.
It reminds me of what we used to do years ago, flip the air filter lid over to let more air in. Chevrolet was the worst, they would have a 1" diameter inlet for a 2 barrel 283 with 1 1/8" throttle plates.
