Any smoke from under the hood? Had a similar issue. Everyone said blown Turbo and EGR. Including the dealer ship.
Found the exhaust pressure sensor had come loose, Found it by pure dumb luck too.
The EPS is a remote mounted sensor about halfway down the DS of the engine. The Copper sensing tube extends to a nipple a the DS front exhaust port. Mine has come undone, but still looked like it was in place due to the copper tube holding it in place, 10lbs of boost was enough to blow the tube away and and the turbo shut down, then would re-egage the turbo as long as I had less the 10 lbs. Smoked like a bugger also, I covered half my block with soot looking for this and had the sun blacked out for a while also.
Any ways this darling little sensor controls the vaines on the Turbo. No exhaust pressure = no turbo = pissed people with thier window down.
