So, yesterday I was traveling to my vacation destiny when suddenly, about 10 miles from the Inn I get the "check air filter" message. The minder had been sucked in. I reset it and proceeded on only to have it sputtering/ no power again. I had to reset the minder again, but no message this 2nd time. My questions are;1- Can the minder get weak and over sensative? 2- Can the minder be left unplugged, and or bypassed? As you can see in my signature, I have the AFE intake. I've NEVER had the minder even move before, much less trigger drivability problems. I'll try to clean the filter today, but being on vacation kinda limits what I can do.
You can leave unplugged, you will get no signs, If it is going off you have something restritting your filter, Are you tuned?
Thanks for the info. Yes tuned. I was able to clean the pre-cleaner "sock" and took it for a quick drive. Seemed ok for now. When I get home again I'll clean it up right.
