Z'ing frame

I was curious to know if anyone has "z'ed" a frame on a f150.
Im talking about the front.
something like this

Install a Crown Vic front end and be done with it. No need to hack 'n' slash the front frame.

I know about the crown vic front, dream beams, cutting springs etc.
the only thing that I havent see on here is someone "zing" a frame which is what brings this post.

I have studied this. A buddy wanted to z his 66. It can be done but you will have to Z it right behind the radius arms. The problem is the front cab mounts are located in front of the radius arms. Relocate the body mounts and raise your tranny tunnel and you are golden

It's not so much the frame, but the front crossmember that interferes with the beams.

Don't mean to be rude but it would be more helpful to us to help you if we got some more information. What you've thought of doing why you want to do this or that.

No need to beat us about with snyde comments.

Thats all I have to say.

me snyde comments? umm I think you are mistaken.
just being to the point.
I always see the "its a truck" why are you doing that remark everytime I see anyone trying to do something "different"
if It weren't for all the great info and the few guys on here that actually talk about trucks and not personal opinions this place would be the only place most of us would have to go to for info.

Its simple, has anyone ever "z'ed" a frame on one of our trucks.
what other info is needed?
im not asking for a DIY or opinions on what others think about it being done, just curious if anyone has done it.

I greatly appreciate those that respond with ideas and info but this is one option that I havent seen discussed on here.

Alright then well for these trucks they make so many different ways to drop them that do not require chopping the frames to bits so a better bet requiring less work with better results would be to find a drop kit.

However if you are still intent on z'ng the frame then you will need to do something to the rear a simple shackle flip should be enought to match the drop in the front.

There is the link to DJM they have had good parts for my other vehicles with decent prices but hey not everyone likes 'em

hey thanks, I think the rear is the "easiest" part of it all of this.

from what I see about this process is that ther is not a whole lot of chopping, really just 1 cut per side some gussets and welding .
as long as you keep it all straight it should be pretty straight forward.

I did not Z my frame and it lays rockers on stock beams. I don't know how low you are wanting to go But I don't think you are gonna have any luck looking on this site. Try LAtruckscene.net or StreetSource.com
