12v Batter Power On 7 Way Trailer Connector....
#16
Yeah, my running lights, tail lights, brake lights and blinkers all work great. It is only the lead to charge the battery on my RV from my truck that does not work.
Do know for sure that the truck is charging the battery on the RV's attached to these trucks or was just the basic (brake/blinker/running light) check done?
Thanks,
Chris

we use a 7-way LED tester which shows you each lead 12 volt,tail/marker, left turn, right turn, backup and trailer brakes. we have to test them before they leave for all functions.
thats why i'm curious as to why yours would not be charging. now chevys need there battery charge line hooked up but i've never run into a ford('99-'11) that needed any extra work done.

Hello Everyone,
I have a brand new 2011 F250 Super Duty Lariat (6.7 Diesel). I love this truck by the way!!!
Anyway, when my camper is attached and plugged into the 7 pin plug, all of the brakes and lights work, but the 12 volt power line to charge the battery on my trailer is not working. I checked the Power Distribution Box and the 25 amp fuse is in correct socket (#90) and the relay is in place in socket 102. I have checked the voltage on the appropriate lead on the 7 way connector and I have NO voltage on the lead "12 Volt Battery Power" which is what should be charging the batteries on my camper. Any ideas as to why the 12 volt is not working on my 7 pin trailer connection?
I know on my previous truck, F150, I had to insert a relay to enable it. Any ideas????
Thanks,
gascan

Well I guess I am a giant goober!! <Grin> My problem was a blown fuse (position 90). I inspected it yesterday but I guess the light was bad or my eyes were bad because it looked fine. I visited my Ford dealer this morning and they brought me the blown fuse. With the new fuse inserted, I have power now on the appropriate pin.
Now I just have to figure out why it blew. I suspect it might have happened when my RV dealer was installing the 2nd 7way plug into the bed of my truck. I hope it is not my RV pulling too much power....
Thanks again for all the advice guys.
