bad throw out bearing in clutch

Oh boy throw bearing squells and clutch is hanging up when stepping on clutch, so started to take out the tranny and I need help on how to take out the shifter lever. Anybody know? Its 4 wheel drive so I have my work cut out for me here!! I paln on replacing the throw bearing and inspecting the clutch and see if I can get away with just the beqring replacement and not all new.

Welcome to FTE. Unscrew the shift boot from the floor inside the cab. There's a screw in each corner holding it in place. Once you pull that up, you can remove the lever. Don't tear that boot. It's amazing how much noise it keeps out of the truck.

There are 4 philips head screws holding the shift boot to the cab floor. Once they are out lift the boot up. You can see the bolts to remove quite easily.
Put the trans in neutral before you remove the shifter.
Best thing's a shop manual.

depends on the year... in 2008 all you have to do is tug it and the boot will pop off.
