That's not very welcome news. So far I have not experienced anything similar with my Ford, I even did a little checking on this forum to see if it was a common problem..........With the Dodge, after I experienced the "Death Wobble" a couple of times I went looking on their forum and sure enough there it was listed in the "common problems" thread, did not see that here........I sincerely hope It does not happen EVER again.

...death wobble? S'plain that one to me, you mean the steering?
Basically the "death wobble" ,at least from my experience, is a violent shaking of the front end. (feels like the wheels are gonna fall off) You lose steering control ect. and must slow down to get the vibration to stop. It's like the truck is having a seizure or something. It usually happened with me on the freeway after hitting a bump (like a bridge joint) Needless to say I don't miss it at all.

KSCRUDE's assesment that Ford is also plagued with it is not welcomed news, but so far so good. I'll just check my peace of mind at the door for a few months until I'm sure my truck does not have this problem.

The SD's are plauged with this problem as well and are not just tied to the 05-07 trucks although it is more prone on the front coil spring suspension and can even happen to the newer trucks. Some don't have a problem while others do.

If you plan to keep your truck stock, consider swapping out the shocks with quality gas units as well as the steering stabilizer, this will help keep it at bay. Keep the truck well aligned, tires rotated and balanced and keep an eye out on ball joint wear. Mine did the DW at about 55k.

Remember most HD trucks can and do have this problem. It is typically linked to the steering geometry. There are typically absolute fixes for it so don't worry too much about it im sure you will get to love the SD much more than your dodge.

Thanks for the helpful tips DAVE67FD, I will certainly keep a check on those items. New shocks are definately on my list........I've already learned a lot by lurking here. This is a great site.
