Hello everyone, first post......... I traded my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 for a 2006 F250 today. I will admit I miss the Hemi power, but I absolutely will not miss the "Death Wobble !!"
I hope this Ford is a good running truck, I feel I got an excellent deal on it and it has fairly low miles 85k. Feel free to school me on anything I need to know about the Ford
Congrats on your new truck. I'm sure you will like it a lot more. I never understood why anyone would want to own a Dogde. This is a great site, and a lot of good people here. Good luck.
the key to getting power outa that 5.4 is to let it rev..
dont be afraid to run it north of 4500RPM...it wont even wake up till over 3000...
I appreciate this info, I had gotten used to babying the throttle on the Dodge for fear of setting off the Wobble again. I'll admit it'll probably take me a while to get used to the idea that I can push the throttle again. I wish I could express effectively my joy at getting rid of that thing.
My previous experience with Ford is a 67 F100, I purchased in 1999 when I got out of the Army (poor and young with kids) I paid $1200 for it and in spite of just being an older truck in ran excellent. I then purchased a 2001 F250 XL regular cab 2wd that had 220,000 miles on it and drove it for three years, It also ran excellent. For some reason I decided to upgrade (or so I thought) to the Dodge Ram Quad Cab................I owned it for 8 months and in that time I experienced the "Death Wobble" and had to replace the right front Hub bearing............... So now I'm back to Ford. I hope this one runs as well as the previous two. I've never really been "into trucks" so to speak, that is to say I've never joined a forum to discuss them and what not and I don't really upgrade them or anything special. I just want them to run well and last. I suppose in some cases that is too much to ask.
I hope I never have to experience the remorse I had over the Dodge situation again. There's nothing like oweing money on a truck and having to spend money to fix it......
I am extatic that I was able to trade out of it for a newer Ford. It has a little less features ect, but from my point of view, it just means less stuff to potentially go wrong.
I just had my truck out with a trailer today. At full throttle, the truck shifts itself at 52-5300 RPM. Don't be afraid if letting it rev to make power.

Man, I am glad you said that.....I have been too easy on the truck....I noticed that today.....
Welcome to the world of Ford. As for why someone would want a Dodge cause it got the Cummins in it Buit by FORD. To bad they had to put a Dodge truck around it. LOL
05 to 07 super duties all are prone to the death wobble. A very severe problem that ford won't owen up to and recall. They have a fix while under waranty and then you are on your own. I would make sure that your truck has been fixed or i wouldn't drive it around the block.
