Reelcraft is what I use at work. They are nice. I have the same hose at home, but I just drape it over a garden hose hanger.

We folk in the desert southwest need to pay attention to this thread. I drained mine this morning and decanted almost a quart of condensate.

Since the wife installed a temp/humidity/clock on the back porch, I've noted a difference in our local (backyard) humidity and the one at the wide open spaces of the airport.

This must be what's filling my tank. Thanks guys.

humidified, himmelberg

Two months?!! I'd better drain my compressor again!

Just kidding, I drain it whenever I think about it, every time I use it.

Compressed air is warm, once the compressor sits the air cools down and the water particles condense. It doesn't take much time for the air cool enough for the water to condense.

I dont know if this is a response to my reply, but, I am aware as to why it happens but am unsure why draining mine doesn't get all the water out. I can drain mine at the end of the day and the next morning, my air ratchet is spraying water everywhere? Yikes!

What is the procedure? Pull the valve when its pressurized or when its not?

I just crack open my bottom drain valve while the tank is pressurized, if you open it full open you won't get the water out, the water will rush past the water.

Do you have a moisture trap in your system? If you have a good trap it should prevent water getting to your hose until there's enough water built up, then you have to drain your tank and moisture trap. Also, you have a drain leg in your system to help collect moisture?

Water will collect in the low points of a piped system, or in hoses, too.

I used to have a auto drain valve on mine but it never seemed to work very long... it would get clogged with rust and crap and stick... after the third or fourth time disassembling it I finally just tossed it and but a ball valve and a section of hose that runs thru the outside wall... when I think of it I open it up a little... I never get more than a 1/2 cup of water out of the tank...

I've got drop legs and drain valves at each drop and the only thing that comes out of them is spiders...

That's hard to believe in Alabama... I'm going to put a ball valve, too, but here in the high desert I get about 1/2 cup a week. If you use it a lot, it may be blowing out.

Drain

Drained my tank yesterday, only got a couple of ounces but since I was going to paint my fenders thought I'd better.

Fenders are done and ready for install, weather has been perfect !

I'm going to do this to mine this weekend..what did you use for piping? galvanized, copper? (assuming water might sit there)
I think I will have to raise the tank a little, so going to use a hard rubber isolator on the three legs.. (hockey puck, I think)

mine is an 80 gal tank. jacking it up will be fun! (not).. heck. just use my engine hoist!

Sam
